As campaign season seems to have started in full voice, the real players of the 2016 Presidential election have begun to publish their policy statements to establish their own personal policy positions as part of their platforms. Further, they have made past and present statements which will show light on their views present and past which will be added as we research further their statements and votes. In this section of the blog, we will try to report the past and recent policy statements and key quotes from each candidate of both parties that relate to national security an U.S foreign policy. This will give our readers an opportunity to compare positions and arguments.
From time to time we will be doing an analysis of some of these positions and we welcome any contributions of new quotes we have not seen that should be added to our archive. Send them to nationalsecurity@ciponline.org.
